Alot student who want to really complete their education had to go through this examination first to get to the higher institution otherwise know as the university and JAMB for short is the direct way to gain access to the university all though there are several alternative method of gaining admission into the higher institution and one of the way is through pre -degree and par-time for those that are working class. the good thing is that it is a national exam that is well recognized in every university all over Nigeria.
now back to the topic;

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE SITTING FOR THE JOINT ADMISSION AND MATRICULATION BOARD EXAM

before sitting for this examination you’ll need to do a bit of self assessment like ask yourself these questions and one of them is “Why am i sitting for this examination?” give yourself an answer, then another question what should be my target if i want to pass this exam ? now back to the first question why am i sitting for this examination? the answer is simple; yes of course you need to go through this exam as an assessment to gain admission into the university that is if you meet the official requirement.

The exam comprises of four (4) subjects for any class or subject of your choice with English Language as a compulsory Subject and the other three can be any other subject depending on your course of study with a total score of 400 marks 100 for each subject to a total sum of 400 marks and gaining admission into the higher institution is on the basis of a particular score or cut of mark. officially its 140 for College of Education, 150 for Polytechnics and 180 for University but these days some universities take is as priorities to even give cut of marks of 200 and if you pass or hit the score you are admitted. So all you need to do is read hard and understand your subjects.
